M.A.C. Hermann Trophy for Soccer Stars

The M.A.C. Hermann Trophy is presented by the Missouri Athletic Club to top collegiate soccer players. The award is named after Robert Hermann in 1967, the president of the National Professional Soccer League. It wasn’t until 1988 did they create an award the top women’s player.

Selecting a recipient goes as follows: At the beginning of the season a list of names of players is compiled by a nominating committee, throughout the season people are added and cut to make a list of 15, the list is then sent to Dvision 1 coaches who vote on the players (they can vote on players that aren’t on the list as well). The finalists are invited to a dinner where the winners are announced.

The winning soccer players go home with a ten pound crystal trophy that rewards their athletic achievements.
